so far, no decrease in energy, but being too hyperthyroid
apparently also causes fatigue.

Oh sure it can, they keep my hyperthyroid to avoid the growth of cancer in
thyroid tissue.
Quick explanation, they cant completely remove a thyroid, they leave
fragments behind and a short time after surgery, they gave me radioactive
iodine to destroy the rest of the left over tissue, then they give you a
large amount of synthroid (or other thyroid hormone) to over stimulate what
tissue didn't get destroyed to keep it from trying to become active and
creating more hormone, thus possibly creating more cancer.
Anyway fatigue can be a result of over stimuli. Same with under stimuli.
Sucks without a perfect balance. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of ppl
who are depressed didn't have a thyroid issue.

when i was on the psych unit one time, they checked my thyroid
levels twice and saw a huge surge in (i believe) my tsh. so when
i got out, i saw an endocrinologist who checked me out and
pronounced my thyroid healthy. he said that it's normal to have
a big surge in thyroid hormones when in a bad crash. so it can
work both ways. abnormal thyroid levels can cause depression,
which can cause abnormal thyroid levels.

Sound like a cycle I can relate too, also sounds very difficult to regulate

i'd have it removed

then you'd have to take something like synthroid to replace your
thyroid hormone, but you could keep the levels rock steady.

ugh. sorry to hear it.
have you gotten a bone density scan? according to my mom, being
hyperthyroid can cause bone loss. they're probably horrendously
expensive, though.

They wanted to about two years ago, but I couldn't afford it, so NO I've not
gotten it done yet. Maybe one day...
