Object: JFK 42 years ago today
That was one of the scariest days of my life. I was in accordian
class, third grade. The oil delivery man was crying. My father was
crying. Then 2 days later, I'm in the cellar 'helping' my father make
something and my mother calls down, "Oswald has been shot." The
replay, in black and white of course, looked painful.

Welcome to the club...that Black Friday, I was in fourth grade in Tulsa, and I
knew something was up when the principal broadcast an all-staff conference
notice during lunch. We were bused home from school, and that was the
quietest bus ride I ever had in the seven years I rode a bus to school. I
didn't go to bed until some time Saturday morning, after pulling my first
all-nighter at the ripe old age of eight, watching TV all that night, trying
to make some sense out of the whole mess...
