I took a journey round the world
Today within my head
To fathom all I've seen and heard -
The living and the dead -
I saw the bitter ones, the dark,
The ones that turned to wrong,
The ones that wore the hellfire's mark
And ones lost in a song,
The ones in love, the ones in need,
The ones that know not why
They're here; the ones of every creed;
The ones that swim, that fly;
The angry, rootless, ravenous
The dead and the insane:
I saw where they were coming from
And then I felt their pain
I felt their mindset, thought their thoughts,
And learned wherefrom they come
And by them I was almost caught -
Not all, but only some -
And then I flew into the light
And found in it my home.
And into it I now invite
The souls - wherefrom they come -
