Just saw a /beautiful/ film. |
x-no-archive: yes
"La flaqueza del bolchevique". The DVD has (optional) English
subtitles, but I think it's not (yet) available outside Spain
(I looked for it in Amazon and couldn't find it).
Beautiful albeit sad. I heartly recommend it.

What's it about?
I just saw Shaolin Soccer and the special edition of Showgirls, so I can't
really recommend anything at the moment. Well, nothing GOOD anyway.

My English isn't good enough here, I'm afraid. For the first half of an
hour you think the director is taking another shot at the classic theme
of the "Lolita", but this is as far away from Navokov (or Kubrick) as it
gets.
The main character is a bitter top executive in his mid-thirties who's
taken all the ***** he could and more, who feels he's betrayed everything
he was when he was 20 (he's a former "bolshevik" who now works for the
capitalist system), because of having taken the wrong turn. A mean
*****, btw. One morning when driving to work (while listening
to Heavy Metal, the only thing that relaxes him - or as he says,
prevents him from thinking), he's involved in a car crash, and then
something unexpected happens...
There's a trailer here, but it's all in Spanish I'm afraid:

I've seen Shaolin Soccer. It wasn't /that/ bad...
