last school shooting |
too close to home. If we hadn't of moved, my daughter would have been
at that school.

i thought that one in the 90s was in your state? maybe i am thinking of
Kentucky.
he apparently got picked on or something. the Columbine guys probably
weren't hassled too much, but just played too many FPS games.

that's scary.
we have no security at all in our elementary school. you're
supposed to sign in at the office when entering the school, but
nobody stops you if you don't. sometimes the secretary looks up
from her desk.
the middle/high school is locked at all times. you have to be
buzzed in to enter, and visitors must wear a badge at all times.
students are not allowed to carry bagged lunches. if they bring
lunch in, it goes straight to the cafeteria to be held until
lunchtime. nothing is to be carried into the cafeteria or any
assembly during the school day. it feels drastic, but they don't
have metal detectors at the doors, so i guess it could be worse.
