Maybe I overreacted -- Sorry |
Perhaps I over reacted, but when I opened my news and saw
the response to my post recents post was:
"I spit on your 'grow rich and be happy' book!"
and
"Well, I share your opinion but as I have just cleaned my
monitor
I will just endorse your spitting in a "me too" kind of
supportive way.

I was a little miffed. I applogize that I bitched at
everyone for this, but these were kind of harsh responses to
a very friendly post from me.

I was a little miffed. I applogize that I bitched at everyone for this,
but these were kind of harsh responses to a very friendly post from me.
i don't think alan was trying to be harsh. i think he was making a pun on
the movie "monty python and the holy grail" (i spit in your general
direction) and besides, some of us have tried every book out there on how
to be rich and/or not be depressed and have had no success. some of us have
been here in pain for a very long time. we're jaded. i don't think he was
trying to insult you (maybe i'm wrong), but was instead poking humor at a
post that we hear day in and day out around here. nothing against you
personally. try not to be so sensitive. i know it's hard (BELIEVE ME!),
but you gotta try.

I am sorry. I have Aspergers as well as OCD, and
depression, so the social cues are hard for me to
understand, and I can be very sensetive to rejection,
espectially when i honestly as trying to help people.
I know I have read all the get rick quick crap too and even
wasted money on stuff.
The reason I share books like this is because it is a
classic, it was written by napolen hill in 1926 who work
with dale carinigie. Both very famous writes and teachers
of sorts.
I just shared it thinking it might brighten someones day to
read it. thats all there was too it.
I am not selling anything.
I dont have a job.
My last business failed and left me a half million dollars
in debt.
I was just sharing for the joy of helping others...

I get a little jumpy with my anixeity some times, and my CBT
is teaching me to stand up for myself, and not allow others
to affect me as much. Otherwise I get too sensitive to
rejection...

I agree with Used2be and % that most people are very friendly
here,but that there is,however,conflict at times..There's no way around
it.When you have a group of totally diverse people who have different
personalities,histories,temperaments,backrounds,ways of seeing the
world ect...and add on to that,the fact that many of us have depression
and other psycholoigical illnesses,there is going to be at times
arguments,fights,misunderstandings,miscommunications,people who don't
like each other/don't get along...All in all though,it is a
friendly,helpful place,and you can come and go as you wish,read what
you want,ignore what you want...I tend to take it to seriously,my
feelings get hurt easily,but it's good practise in handling the outside
world.I also am pretty sure that I have OCD...

But seriously Jamie I only read Alan's response and thought he
was responding to the frequent spammers we get here rather than a
'real' person.
