Meds? I don't need no stinkin' meds! :-) |
I have been off Effexor and Risperdal for over a month now and I feel great
(other than today since I have the flu).
If I can quit Effexor cold turkey, so can you.

You might not see all the effects in a month.
I suspect you'll be committed any time now.
Sorry.

Please be careful. I was fine off my meds for several months. I lost
30 lbs, my memory was improving, I had energy, and my sleep was good.
When the crash came, it was very bad. I was closer to killing myself
than I've ever been.
If you are going off meds, make sure you have a good support system,
just in case.
I hope it works for you.

Hey there,
Am new here (hi! :) just picked up on this thread...it sturck a chord with
me...Personally have been on meds for 6 years now the last being
effexor..around January I stopped and hey presto I lost 15lbs in 4 months!
For the first three I felt alert and almost unstoppable (couldn't stop
talking etc...) thought this was great until Crash! wow unbelievable
lows...so Reading what Bobbie says I guess this is a typical response?
Anyway was tempted to go back (still might do) but for what it's worth am
starting to feel 'ok' now but yeah that crash was nasty!....Anyone else had
this sudden feel good then crash when stopping?
Chettie.

So you went off meds, turned manic, then crashed.
What's the surprise?

Please, don't *ever* suggest that anyone quit Effexor cold turkey! The
effects can be disastrous. It's great that you didn't have that
result, but you could get people in a lot of trouble if they follow
this advice. People who are stopping Effexor need to taper slowly off
the medication, or the withdrawal effects can be horrible.

Hi Nom dePlume,
May I second you? You are absolutely correct. I tried going off
Effexor; and it is very dangerous.

Mee too! I like effexor, paxil, trileptol, neurontin, and most of all I love
clonazepam. I have had several steamy affairs with clonazepam. Wait a sec,,,
My wife/clonazepam.....Wife/clonazepam. Tough choice. I'll have to think
about it...
