Object: Mom's doing very well, for as ill as she is
As I've said before, for someone who's terribly sick, she's in excellent
shape.
She's discarded the walker. She can bathe herself now, and is taking
care of herself with regard to all that yucky stuff that goes with a
temporary colostomy which I don't wanna talk about.
She's still moving about gingerly, though. But the nightmares are
waning. And her weight is up to 105; she's gaunt, but no longer
emaciated. She still can't eat much, though. (Having a torpedo-sized
tumor in one's belly tends to shrink one's innards for an indefinite
period.) It'll be quite some time yet before she can withstand the
needed surgery and chemo.
Dad's trying not to get worn out. Some days for him are better than
others. On those others, I'm trying to pick up his slack. Thing is, he
doesn't like to have his slack picked up by anyone but him. But some
days it can't be helped.
Me, I'm keeping on...going to the therp and the pdoc, mowing the lawn,
learning to be more frugal with my dwindling means, putting résumés out,
that sorta thing.
Sure, things aren't magnificent. But they're improving...quite nicely.
Two months ago, I didn't imagine being able to say that.
Thanks to all for your expressions of concern. They've helped much, and
continue to do so.

Good to hear.

One learns to live with a certain amount of friction
about these issues.

Sure, things aren't magnificent. But they're improving...quite nicely.

I hope things continue to improve especially in the
employment arena.
