all my skin around all my joints cracked ,
real dry mouth , no spit , tongue cracking ,
blurred vision , good thing i live in a small town ,
and i know where everything is or there were days i'd been lost ,
that feeling of limbs gone to sleep , every morning both arm , pins n
needles ,
no energy , even less than the no energy i had before ,
and the grand daddy of em all , a sense of depression

Asked some other ppl I know, they say
glucose is best, dextrose is next, sucrose then fructose.
Sweet Tarts (tm) have glucose (IIRC) and are
much cheaper than the glucose tablets.
Sucrose "cane sugar" turns into half glucose and
half something else, so it doesn't work as fast.
In the USA most soda pop is sweetened with fructose,
which is not as good as sucrose.
Some of the decorative cake icings they said
have glucose and they are also much cheaper
than the glucose gel.

Yeah, it's a continuum and either too high is bad and
so is too low, which is bad quicker.
One of the things ppl around diabetics need to learn
is how to suggest glucose/etc when they suspect a hypo.
See, usually the other ppl tend to tell the diabetic
don't eat this, don't eat that with sugar. Suddenly
they are putting this OJ or candy right in their face
and the diabetic is already confused perhaps.
The way I heard it from someone who learned it
from a diabetes educator was to say "I'm afraid
your BG is low. Could you take this and then check it."
