Object: my computer
is screwing up. programs stop responding for awhile, then come
back. very frustrating. it's running its fan nonstop now, too,

Sorry you're having trouble, maybe you could take it in. Hope you don't
think its anything directed towards you, maybe you could have someone look
at it or take it in. Depending on the opertating system there are things you
can do to keep it going, you could check with http://support.microsoft.com.
There might be a program or service running in the background.

thanks david. it seems to have been an overheating problem.
every couple of miutes it would freeze for twenty seconds. if it
happens again, i'll have joe open it up and blow it out. it's
probably just dust or cat hair blocking cooling.

Title: Re: my computer 24 Jan 2007 08:40:42 PM
Maybe the program itself has run out of memory, there may be a way to change
this by right clicking on the x-news installation and looking through the
options, or possibly clearing out all the read messages, and downloading a
fewer amount. You could also try shutting down the computer for about 5 or
10 minutes, then rebooting, or call your ISP if that doesn't work.

thanks david. it seems to have been an overheating
problem. every couple of miutes it would freeze for
twenty seconds. if it happens again, i'll have joe
open it up and blow it out. it's probably just dust
or cat hair blocking cooling.

thanks david. it seems to have been an
overheating problem. every couple of miutes
it would freeze for twenty seconds. if it
happens again, i'll have joe open it up and
blow it out. it's probably just dust or cat
hair blocking cooling.

Sorry you're having trouble, maybe you
could take it in. Hope you don't think
its anything directed towards you, maybe
you could have someone look at it or take
it in. Depending on the opertating system
there are things you can do to keep it
going, you could check with
http://support.microsoft.com. There might
be a program or service running in the
background.

is screwing up. programs stop responding
for awhile, then come back. very
frustrating. it's running its fan
nonstop now, too, so maybe it's an
overheating problem. in any case, i give
up. maybe i'll be back tonight.

if you had more memory it wouldn't take so long

my only problem with youtube is that it takes forever to
download anything, and i don't have the patience to sit and
wait for it. once i've successfully downloaded the video, i
have no problem running it.

right now, i'm running many more processes than i was
earlier, and i'm only using about 1/3 of my available
memory. at the moment, i've got memory to spare.

not having enough

then what does?

you can run every program you have ,
that's not what effects not enough memory

i'd like more memory, but that wasn't what was
making my computer hang. i'm running more right now
than i was before when it kept hanging. the
difference is that the fan isn't running full out.

i wasn't doing anything that uses much for
resources, and the computer was burning hot. i'm
certain it was overheating. it wasn't just slow,
it was hanging for twenty or thirty seconds at a
time, then resuming.

that has nothing to do with the amount of
