my final babble of tonight (part I) |
so i'm talking to this girl, and she uses a Gaelic word. just drops it on
me. so i have to look it up, didn't even know it was Gaelic.
now it's kind of strange because i've wanted to learn Gaelic (after the ones
i'm working on).
soulmate, i hope?

What was the word? And what is Gaelic?
i was referring to the Irish language aka Irish Gaelic, but there are other
Gaelics.
she was speaking Irish, i'm sure of it. i don't care if my lady friend
speaks Sankrit, so long as i can look up the words.
Go n-éirí an bóthar leat.
Go raibh an chóir ghaoithe i gcónaí leat.
Go dtaitní an ghrian go bog bláth ar do chlár éadain,
go gcuire an bháisteach go bog mín ar do ghoirt.
Agus go gcasfar le chéile sinn arís,
go gcoinní Dia i mbosa a láimhe thú.
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
the rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
