I'd like to be able to do that, but in the kind of work I do, contingency
fees are rare. The idea is that you have a duty to the company and its
shareholders to provide objective advice with respect to a transaction and
that that duty would be compromised if you had a significant financial

There is so much you guys do to help people. A lawyer, working for not that
much money, saved me my whole retirement, basically. (Your free advice helped
too, btw.) It must feel great to be able to do that, but it's stressful and
there is no way around it.

John, it sounds like you are stressed out from your job. Some suggestions
1. Determine if there is any way the stress from the job can be reduced.
2. Start making short and long-term decisions about whether you want to stay in
it. For example, if you could save $60,000, you might buy a house and run a
bed and breakfast. Alternatively, you could try to do something else in your
spare time, help cancer patients, the elderly. You have more control over your
life than you may realize.
