my pdoc called |
He returned my call while I was on my lunch break today. He agrees it's
possible my anxiety could be making my neurological symptoms worse (or just
making them feel worse) but until all the physiological and neurochemical
causes are ruled out he doesn't want to step in.
He did listen to my long list of symptoms and was concerned that they're
getting worse. He recommended I go see my GP asap, which I did later in the
afternoon.
My GP gave me a good checkup, and asked a lot of questions, but again,
without the MRI result theres nothing that she could really do execpt
suggest vitamin suppliments (calcium and magnesium) to control muscle pain
and cramping, restless legs, and to put hot or cold packs on my elbow to try
to dull the pain from the nerves there. She thought there was a reasonable
possiblity that my arm pain is from leaning on it while I work and may not
be neurological, but I'm not too sure about that.
At least I've calmed down a lot now because I've got used to the pain and
weakness in my arm. It doesn't scare me as much.
Sigh....it's Thursday night here and the MRI is on Tuesday night, so about 6
days to go. One way or the other I hope I get some answers.

Yes, hopefully that MRI can answer some questions.......
at the very least, perhaps let you know what isn't wrong (as well as what
IS)
hope time passes more quickly for you
waiting can be agony sometimes

Am glad the anxiety is getting better. Relora is a calming agent found in
most health food stores, that can help with stress and anxiety. It can be
taken three times a day, though I would call your GP to make sure it would
work with your other meds. It's just a suggestion. The MRI would have been
good, although understandable that he would want to wait until later.

I was having leg cramps earlier this
summer -- bad ones -- and my doc said to
increase how much water I drank and to
add some quinine. I did get a quinine
supplement and also started drinking
tonic water (which has quinine in it
here). So far, so good.
Last year, I had persistent pain in my
shoulder and my doc suggested changes in
my work station. I got a small plant
stand and put my mouse on it -- about a
6-inch drop. Problem solved. Yer doc may
be on the right track about changing the
position your body is in while you work.
I hope it could be something as simple
for you as it turned out to be for me.
Good luck with the MRI, Kylie.

That's what I got prescribed. (Mg)
to dull the pain from the nerves there. She thought there was a reasonable

It's a definite possibility, I hope it is.
How's the air in your workspace? In the latter
1980s I got so sick working I couldn't do it any more,
part of the problem was pains and arm cramps. I had
been working in inner inner rooms with poor ventilation.
When the smoking ban came down, it helped.

I hope so too.
