My temperature is 49.3 Celsius |
x-no-archive: yes
I'm applying a cloth wet with cold water on my forehead and
taken something for the fever. Should I wait and see if the med
makes its effect, or should I go to the doctor right now?

One small problem: 49.3 °C is 120.7°F. (I think you meant 39.7, which is a
pretty good fever. If it's not down in the next day, a visit to the local MD
would be prudent.)

49.3 is impossibly hot (121f). i think he meant 39.3, which is
102.7f. pretty warm, but not scary unless it stays up there too
long.

That works out to 120.74° Fahrenheit (according to Google.) Dude, you have
to be clinically brain dead by now.

i hope that by now your temp has gone down. if it stays that
high for more than a day and doesn't come down with otc fever-
reducers, see a doc. it's high, but not unusual with a flu
virus. be sure to keep well hydrated, and feel better soon.

Your fever is either cause a typo or you're 22.14°F hotter than what you
should be at. I'm guessing you're closer to THIRTY-nine.
What medication did you take? Tylenol (paracetemol/APAP/whatever the
same damn thing is called in your part of the globe)?? Anything else?
Also consider over the counter drugs and prescription drugs, you may
need to avoid interaction problems.
If so, at what dose? How much have you taken collectively today? How
long have you had a fever? Is it just a fever, or are you also
congested...and if so is it possible to blow your nose and clear it
out...is the mucous clear? Sore throat? Coughing/trouble breathing?

Yeah, that temperature is impossibly high. I was 39.3=BA. The girl at
the chemist's
where I bought the paracetamol (efferalgan) told me to go to the doctor
if my
temperature went beyond 39=BA. So last night, when it got a bit higher
than that,
I was considering to go, but didn't really feel like it.

I'm having paracetamol (4 g in 24 h) and aspirin, and primperan for the
nausea.

Nah, it seems to be a typical flu... headache, cold, fever, etc. It's
not too bad
as long as you can stay home.
I've been like this since last tuesday. It should begin to cease in a
couple days
at most.

I haven't had a real flu in almost four years now. I credit the sauna for
that. It seems that boosting your temperature intentionally can help
prevent getting sick.
I hope your feeling better soon!

I swapped a three for a four. Must have been the fever! The
highest I ever had was 41=BA, and I was almost in delirium already.
At 49=BA my brain would have melt and evaporated.
So, big ooops!
Anyway, the paracetamol and the icy water worked their part.
I've awoken in a pool of sweat (yuck) but the high fever is gone.
Thanks guys. I was a bit alarmed because I was alone.

That's high for an adult. If you have anti-biotics, you could give it
a couple of days and see how you are going, however if you have a
cough and a sore chest, and you are unable to lower your fever by
taking paracetamol (or something of the kind), I would get to the
doctor pronto.
I hope you feel better soon.
