I love the sound of the train at night. That melancholic whistle coming out
of the dark like the cry of a banshee. The click clack of metal wheels on
metal rails that seems to go on forever even after the train is long gone.
And thunder. That's a sound you can feel. As if the whole sky is coming
apart at the seams.

I have too many, so I can't keep it to 10. They are also in no
particular order.
My husband's/daughter's voice.
My husband's/daughter's laugh.
Children playing.
A motor-mower on a hot Sunday morning.
Music of all kinds.
The gentle lapping of a river.
The intro music to my favourite programme.
My daughter's car, late at night - and then I know she's home safe.
Certain birds, that come at a particular time of year.
Wind, gently rusting the trees.
The phone ringing, when I am waiting for an important call.
The sound of breakfast cooking on a Sunday morning.
My air-conditioner; it puts me to sleep.
Country music playing quietly on a lazy week-end.
Wiper blades on a long, rainy trip.
Tinkling Christmas bells.
My cat's meow.
My daughter playing the guitar and singing.
Wind chimes.
The sounds of a rain forrest.
Underwater sounds of all kinds.
