neurology update |
I'm completely off med no 1 (Keppra) and tonight I've started reducing med
no 2 (Epilim - sodium valproate) - from 600 mg daily down to 400.
I had mild side effects from the Keppra reduction, mostly an increase in the
muscle pains I've been having for a few days after each reduction. I'm a
bit worried about what the side effects will be from reducing the Epilim,
but I'm taking it really slowly, and I'll call my neurologist if the side
effects are bad. He didn't seem all that concerned about any potential
problems with coming off the meds, so hopefully all will go smoothly.

It can be frustrating how the very meds that are supposed to help can hurt
when we need to discontinue them
I hope the change goes easily for you.

Thanks for the update... an M.D.s lack of concern doesn't
meant that the transition won't be unnoticeable, only that
it won't have any lasting bad effects though.
