Hello everyone,
I have been on a number of anti depressants, the last one was Prozac, felt
good for few months, like a high, and nothing after few months, for the past
week, taking Effexsor, any feedback on that drug.
Thank you.
Allie.

Hello Allie, and welcome to ASD :))
I've been taking Efexor for a few weeks now and so far it's doing better
than any of the others I've tried.

Thank you for the welcome, and for the positive answer about Effexsor, have
been on for only a little more than a week, so I am hoping, depression
sucks.
Citroens?...lol... I used to like them.....

Yeah....what's up with the lower sex drive with anti-depressants. Are they
trying to make us not reproduce or something? I was told it would go away
after switching from Celexa to Zoloft, but no such luck. Well, maybe it's
just my husband being a butthead! LOL. Seriously though. I do not like this
side effect at all. They can send people to outer space, but not take way
the sex-drive factore of anti-depressants? What is wrong with this picture?

Gingko biloba is known to ameliorate sexual dysfunction caused by
psychotropic medications. Trials routinely indicate that a minimum of
240 mg of gingko daily should offset sexual side effects in about a
month's time. The National Foundation for Depressive Illness also
recommends this dosage as well for this purpose.
N.B.: Check the ingredients on the bottle before purchase. Make sure
you're buying pure gingko biloba extract. Some companies lace the
capsules with caffeine or other stimulants. Gingko is touted as being
able to improve brain function, and adding such substances gives the
user a false sense that the product is working more quickly than it
really is.

Hello,
I agree with you, something has to be done....lol
Now Zoloft was the worst for me, no time to be depressed while on it, I was
sleeping all the time.
Take care.
