Object: Oh great
I made the mistake of looking on the web for info on Cymbalta
withdrawal. It sounds at least as hellish as Effexor. Brain
zaps, dizziness, a sensation of insect bites all over and
restless leg syndrome. I even saw a journal paper which
concluded that one should taper Cymbalta for a minimum of two
weeks before discontinuing. My taper's one week long. It's going
to be an interesting ride...

I haven't had heroin withdrawals, but I've gone off narcotics.
It wasn't fun, but it wasn't as bad as Effexor. The depression
lasted longer after opiate withdrawal, but I was never as sick
as I was when I went off Effexor.

imediately if not sooner. I hope you are doing well.

Didn't you recently switch to Cymbalta? Be sure not to go cold
turkey from it, and only under your doctor's supervision. From
what I've seen, this drug can be nasty to wean off.

Thanks, I just talked with my Dad about it, he is open to switching but will
do it with a doctor's direction.

Don't forget the whole phenomenon of nobody hootin' and hollerin' when
nothing really happens. I'm sure I've switched off meds with no problems
when others went through hell on the same thing. My effexor withdrawal
for instance was really just slow - nothing else. I took a couple weeks
to complete it, split caplets open to get 1/2 and 1/3 doses. Then just
put the little XR sprinkles in apple sauce.
My only effexor withdrawal "horror story" was thinking that my PC's fans
were going out because of some mild doppler-esque sound stuff at the
beginning.
I don't call tech support daily to tell them that everything is going
super duper.

Yeah, I know. I mostly looked to see what kinds of physical
side-effects people had since I thought Effexor withdrawal
might have been easier on me having known what to expect,
physically. My Effexor withdrawal was rough, but I went from
375 mg to nothing in ten days. At least now if I have weird
stuff going on, I know whether it's likely to be the med
taper. I know that I might or might not have symptoms, but I
wanted to know, if I do, what they'd be.

The worst problem I had with Effexor was feeling the need to
move all the time so that I was bouncing off the walls, combined
with horrific vertigo anytime I turned my head. I was pacing the
in-patient unit holding the walls to keep from falling down.
