I love my little girl.
How can you not love a face that looks up at you and say,
"Pyut. Peez," and then drags you off by the hand to sit with her in the
secret place where she goes to eat them.

Me, too.
I'd rather be doing that than anything.
But here's the weird part: I'm more productive in my work life now than
I've ever been.
Still can't figure that one out.

Maybe it's cuz all that joy energy is spilling out into other parts of your
life. It sometimes works that way.
You sound really, really good lately. (Well, you always did but I mean,
especially lately).

Yep. And I discovered that Mickey D's is not gender neutral.
Maia has a really beautiful face, but she's also very, very tomboyish. I
kind of like that about her. We call that her "Little Guy" mode because one
day at the hospital a guy in a wheelchair greeted her by saying, "Hello,
Little Guy."
Anyhow, she had been getting these neat toys from Mickey D's Happy
Meals--little cars and a skateboarder and whatnot.
This time--I think because her hair is finally growing out--the server
asked, "For a girl?" before giving us the Happy Meal toy. I said yes, but I
shouldn't have, because what we got was a doll. Not nearly so interesting
as the Little Guy toys.

She loves dogs. She used to calls them, "Ooofs," but she's learned how to
say, "Dog," now. I kind of wish she still called them, "Ooofs."
Her ear doctor told us we can't have pets. She wants to protect her one
ear, and pets are associated with allergies which are associated with ear
infections.
I still want to get her a dog, though. Something big like a Shepherd. Or a
mutt from the pound.

Maybe you could get her one of those hairless type dogs. Best to wait a little
bit though, when she really gets that noses are not places to stick fingers
into.
Has she ever had an ear infection, John? Because if not, she'll be far less
prone to them now. Not immune, but less prone.
Ear infections in children her age are very painful. They scream and scream from
the pain. You definitely want to avoid that.
