thanks. I did telephone surveys on and off for about 6 and a halph
years, and within the last couple years, my name over the phone had
been "jordie"... a couple of my coworkers told me they liked the
name... I don't know if it will catch on though here, after so many
years of being called "alvin" and "relayer"... I'll give it a try, at
any rate...

I've never liked my real name much, I've changed it a few times,
even though I've heard that a name is just a name... finally I decided
to use my given name in real life... On the internet though, it's nice
having a bit of privacy and anonymity...

I'm not sure... I was named after my dad's dad, and he was just
crazy about his father, so I'm sure he'd have liked me to stick with my
givven name, but he didn't say anything at the time... and my mom got
upset because after she told all her friends that I changed my name,
she had to tell them that I'd changed it back again... at this point,
I'll probably stay with my given name...
