speeches of the common people write are considered in Spain, where i
live, as I perceive happens in England and America.

Well, we both tried ;-) At least part of the message got through - I
only hope what I /really/ said lies somewhere between what you
understood and
what I meant to say (I'm not precisely "good" myself, either).
Of course there's something to be said about people who bother trying to
learn the language of long dead people (my excuse: I'm working on my
very
own Time Machine)

I think what happened was that i translated it literally, and you're
able to make the leap into actual translation, probably because you
actually ARE competent in Latin. i got the point of the message
loud'n'clear: The Clergy are a bunch of liars! ;)

Nah. The chaps at alt.language.latin are competent. I'm just a clueless
newbie (the day I'll be able to read Ovid easily and fluently... well,
