Ever mown a meadow using a proper scythe? I did once; very hard work, and

I'm always impressed by the thought that a good scythe user could do at
least as good a job on the lawn as Wynne can with the mower. (It's the
one job I've managed to pass to him.)

Grazing animals have their attractions, if you really can't bear the
thought of no lawn. Llamas and alpacas are rather elegant, and quieter and
less messy than geese, but rabbits probably make better pets (or lunch).

Putting 47 men and a dog out of work, massacring nesting birds rather

One man and his dog,
Went to mow a meadow
Two men went to mow,
Went to mow a meadow,
Two men, one man and his dog,
Went to mow a meadow
Three men went to mow,
Went to mow a meadow,
Three men, two men, one man and his dog,
Went to mow a meadow
Four men went to mow,
Went to mow a meadow,
Four men, three men, two men, one man and his dog,
Went to mow a meadow
Went to mow a meadow
