One reason I procrastinate and screw up my own life |
x-no-archive: yes
I don't act on hard decisions. I know what I need to do, but I turn
into a wuss and sit on it and don't act and just let things get worse.
e.g. Getting rid of sub-par employees.
I'm doing an event next month, I significantly underbid a portion of it.
I screwed up. I have to ask to ask for more money, and not do it if
they won't give me more. I have to stop giving away my services. I
have a good rapport with this guy, but it's still oogey. I resolved to
call him today, I should have made this call 2 hours ago. Instead I
mowed the lawn and ate.
The successful small businesses I see, the owners are inevitably sons of
bitches. They are not necessarily liked by their employees; in fact,
they're employees frequently gripe and ***** behind their back. Yet,
they stay working there, and the business is usually pretty successful.
It is I think pretty true that you don't win in business by being a
Nice Guy (tm).
OK, gonna do it now. Ugh.

I'd guess that at least half of us in asd couldn't sack someone on
demand. I could sack your employees easily enough - I've never met them,
and I'll never meet them again, so I don't care for them. Maybe
depressives care more than non-depressives? Who would know stuff like
that?

Even lawns need work, and meals need eating. And wives need looking
after.

But there are successful businessmen who win philanthropist of the year
award. You need to know when you have to be firm, and when you have to
be up front and now about things.
OK, gonna do it now. Ugh.
And you'd be surprised how late now can be. :)

The opinions given above may be mine. They might also
just be what I feel like saying right now, okay?

Well that was easy. I think the price is still low, but he bumped me
another 25%. It's doable now, not great, but doable. A 1 minute phone
call.
