Origami time |
My son's been waiting an hour for me to wind down enough to do
origami with him. He loves crafty stuff. I guess I'm out of
excuses. I'll give him an hour, then have him make dinner for
us. He promised to try a recipe this week and the ingredients
aren't going to last any longer. I like having guys who cook :-)

Oh, origami is hard for me. I've tried doing it with my kids and it
requires a lot of patience that I just don't feel like having while
I'm trying to make art by folding paper. Great job though, I hope it
was fun. My daughter cooks sometimes and it's great. What did he
cook by the way?

We haven't figured out the origami rose yet. Got at least
halfway, then it got really confusing. We'll try some more
later.

FWIW, both my kids are now very happy I had them learn to cook. Now
that they are eating their own cooking, it makes a difference.

Make sure they learn some easy quick stuff, too. It really helps when
they're in school.

He already makes himself simple things for lunch like pasta
with ham, peas, and parmesan or grilled cheese sandwiches.
Tonight's his first stir-fry, shrimp with peppers, bean
sprouts and snow peas with a coconut milk/red chili paste
sauce. I helped him prep the shrimp and peas for time's sake,
now Joe's showing him how to use the wok. He's used to
sauteing, so he should get it pretty quick, at least I hope.
Dinner's running late, of course, and I'm hungry!

Oh wow, fancy shmancy! I have never cooked with a wok, only stir fry
pans. I hope it's yummy!
