i'm terrible with paperwork. i keep forgetting to file quarterly
tax statements for a business i'm only keeping alive because i
have to provide support, if need be, to a couple of clients. i
think it's time to kill the business before i get hauled in for
not filing.

Ooh! Big envelopes can be frightening things.
Which reminds me, time to stuff some more big envelopes and send them
off to literary agents. I haven't had a rejection slip in weeks.

Better than unsorted piles of miscellanea icognita.

<stunned admiration>
Way to go, Alan.

Can I post this without the closing tags? Let's see.

Alu was forced to deal with at least one aspect of his mountains of
paperwork. he got a letter from the local tax office that he was going
to be audited. because he refuses to hire a tax accountant/lawyer (de
rigueur in Germany) he has to explain his entries. so far, he is in the
right. but they have more questions.
