Party time. |
It was my wife's birthday yesterday, so she's having a bagel brunch
today (to avoid the sabbath). I get to sit next to the drink. I *shall*
remember to eat something this time.
Got to do the happy, sociable front for six or seven hours, then I get
to collapse and avoid cleaning up.

It's better than a full party, and we have a big enough house for it -
three reception rooms and a four-seater hall. It only got crowded round
the food, which was uncooked, so was little trouble. They just last too
long for me. Maybe I need to take a Valium beforehand.
There's a lot of cheese left over.

Ahh, I see why millipede man is not your most special friend. Well,
even JC said, "I have not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill the
law." So the law must still be in effect.
kudos to her for following it in todays world. Our senator, Joe
Lieberman, observes the sabbath. Nobody likes him here anymore, but ya
gotta respect him for not campaigning on Saturday.
I get to sit next to the drink.
I liked to be in charge of that. Would always make their drinks my
way...."oooo, that's strong"
"yes but you're so boring, I need to bring out something in you I can
wrap my feet around."
shall I put a top on it for you?"
I *shall*
remember to eat something this time.
And take a vitamin b-complex. Gives a social buzz, and you pee yellow
even when your drinking. Fascinating.

My jaw starts hurting from smiling.

Never been married, but it appears to be chock full of negotiated
agreements.

Sociable for 6 or 7 hours? That's an awful long time. I know I'd find
it draining. (Then again, if you are sitting next to the drink, at
least you have something good to drain.)
Hope it went okay and your wife had a happy birthday.

It went well, for my wife and Wynne, at least. I collapsed after four or
five hours and had to go to bed. I woke up in time to see the last few
guests off, then went back to bed feeling really depressed. I'm not too
bad now - thinking of watching a film I've seen before, when I can think
of one.
Wynne and I were almost the only ones drinking; good job we had lots of
fruit juice and bottled water.
