Object: PEOPLE WHO CAN'T TAKE A JOKE
I was in an office waiting room about 20 minutes ago ,
and a guy much younger than myself , lets say late teens early twenties
was using the phone and I over heard him saying , hay gramma , I passed ,
so when he hung up he passed in front of me , we made eye contact and ,
I said congratulations I couldn't help but over hear you on the phone ,
what was the course you passed , he said , no , I passed my class three
driver test
again I said , well good for you and there was a short pause , then I said ,
guess that means I better stay off the road now ay ... holy fk , he lit up ,
just like a Christmas tree , I thought he was going to drag me outside and
kill me
I told him I was just kidding , but wow , what a deep emotional reaction he
had
I felt bad like I must've really insulted him , I even left without getting
what I went there for , and I thought about returning to apologise again ,
but I didn't ,
and now i've got a case of the guilts
.

yeah, I feel bad sometimes too if interactions don't work out as
smoothly as I'd like them to... sometimes people misinterpret people's
intentions... for example, sometimes I am nosy, and am interested in
things about other people(such as what they are reading, tons of other
stuff), but recently I was just trying to make conversation with a
coworker, and he thought I was being nosy and intrusive, and it was
about a subject I really had no interest in... I was just trying to be
polite and show interest, he misunderstood and got upset... that upset
me for a while, but then I thought, "well I meant well... in the
future, I won't bring up that subject with him..." everyone reacts
differently, I was talking to another coworker about much more personal
things and he didn't seem to mind at all. so,I guess unless you know
the person, you never know what subjects the person will welcome and
which subject will touch some kind of sore spot... I think apologizing
is always a nice thing... if people don't accept the apology, it is
their problem...

well , I gotta look at the thing in its entirety ,
here's this young guy all excited and feeling proud ,
and I go an lip off right in the middle of what might be ,
one of the proudest moments in his life ,
but then , I wonder if he's that quick to snap ,
what would happen in traffic if he thought you cut him off ,
can you say ... candidate for road rage

geez, what an over-reaction. you didn't do anything wrong, %. nothing at
all. you were just teasing him which would be a natural gesture from most
people in that same situation. it was his reaction that was totally off the
charts. you already told him you were teasing...what more could you have
done? you couldn't have known he would respond this way. the guy
definitely has issues!

yes, it's getting quite windy. and the clouds look really cool. they are
like long curling streaks instead of the usual puffy things. tomorrow is
supposed to get a bit windier, and that is about it. probably no rain at
all.

I don't know... is there any one in the world free of some type of
mental disorder? I imagine that's a pretty rare thing... and a lot of
it is about perception and labeling, I imagine... who's to say what's
normal and what's abnormal? I guess people who are in some kind of
power are the the ones who make those decisions... I've read about that
somewhere recently, but I can't remember where...

That depends on what you consider to be a mental disorder. By popular use,
the synonym for that definition is: SANE. So, popularly, most people are
normal, are not suffering from some type of mental disorder, are sane, are
able to anticipate, appreciate and appraise the effects of their own
actions. However, from a Hindu/Buddhist psychological perspective, they
are not sane and are almost all suffering from mental disorder, delusions
regarding the nature of reality, but then, that is what becomes normal,
that basic insanity, and anything added on to worsen it is what makes the
deviation from normalcy; most people are still 'normal'.

I imagine that's a pretty rare thing... and a lot of it is about
perception and labeling, I imagine... who's to say what's normal and
what's abnormal?

People who keep track, bean counters, statisticians. They plot field data,
medical data, for instance, or information on child and adult development
and behaviour patterns.

I guess people who are in some kind of power are the the ones who make
those decisions... I've read about that somewhere recently, but I can't
remember where...

Chomsky, maybe. Those people can make propaganda and alter what appears to
be normal, even change things enough to alter what is normal, but normal
will still be what is considered to be within the definition for it, it's
just that the range can change.

We all get caught out, I guess when it happens to you it's a case of
