About an amazing array of subjects. Everyone saying, hey I'm alive,
I'm here and this is what happened or is happening to me.
Yet behind those words are real people. Amazing thing that...

yes,I often wonder if it's lonliness that drives most people to
post here.(otherwise they would probably talk only through Email)That
is certainly the case with me,and I think most people...also Humans
have an equal desire for revelation and concealment...and hear is a
place to get both those needs met...

yes,I often wonder if it's lonliness that drives most people to
post here.(otherwise they would probably talk only through Email)That
is certainly the case with me,and I think most people...also Humans
have an equal desire for revelation and concealment...and hear is a
place to get both those needs met...
Its a way of communicating and interacting while still maintaining boundaries
and anoniminity.

you may be able to track someones location - but yo still don't "know" the
person.
You know where someone posts from, but you don't know who they really are -
their feelings, fears, thoughts or looks. You only know what they choose to
say. If I talk to you face to face you can see many more things than you can
from words typed on a news group - thus anomoninity (or however you spell it)

for myself, at least, asd is a place to open up and talk about
things non-depressed people wouldn't understand/can't handle.
once that is started, it's hard to ignore the new friendships.
and it's a much easier venue for me than email, in that i can
answer when i want to, hide out when necessary. i'm not lonely,
i'm often posting with my husband beside me. just isolating from
the real world, and sometimes from here as well.

When I first came to ASD I thought I found a place to open up.
Even though no one knows who I am. I can not.
So I mostly Lurk, just as in real life. At least there are poeple
here that are like me.

I've given up trying to figure it out. I love this place, more so
now than ever. It feels like home and yet...

I hope so. His words feel so familiar... I seem past those days now
and yet the ideation is as prevalent as ever. It kicks in every time
I feel troubled. A sort of Pavlov's Dogs scenario. The difference is
there is no longer belief, just awareness of my reality.
