Object: Perfect album?
The Doors, L.A. Woman.
Solar plexus bouncingly loud, bass topped out.
Just one of those moods, I suppose.
I would have killed for this when I got my first, pre-SoundBlaster
soundcard.

The opinions given above may be mine. They might also
just be what I feel like saying right now, okay?

My brother made me a new CD, the piano player from peanuts,
Vince Guaraldi, I love it, I played it all day today.

While Im a Doors fan from waaaaaaaaay back and prefer Soft Parade to
LA Woman, or even Morrison Hotel, not to mention the Debut which is a
classic....I wouldnt dream of arguing it with you, cuz taste is taste
regardless of opinions or reviews.
My perfect albums at this juncture in time are Fuse by Joe Henry and
Franks Wild Years by Tom Waits. Many people will know of Tom
Waits....but Ive yet to meet another person who has heard of Joe
Henry....But if you like the Doors, or really any good music, then I
strongly, STRONGLY urge you to get a copy of Fuse and be prepared to
be mesmerized from start to finish...there is not one weak song on
it...it is haunting, well written and has at once a warm, tube amp
urban 70s jazz sound, yet very contemporary in its production....but
its the music itself that floors you. I promise you will not regret
the purchase, or even better, your local library may even have it...in
any event it is amazing. Frank's Wild Years by Tom Waits is a classic
in my mind, but he is an acquired taste and hes one you either love or
hate....but those are my perfect albums on 9/4/07

The soft Parade has now begun, listen to the in-gins hum, people out
to have some fun...cobra on my left, leopard on my right....out a
sight. see the woman in a silk dress, girls with beads around their
necks, kis the something of a green vest who has wrestled before, with
lions in the night.

I do need to add, there is such a lack of production rawness to la
woman, and jim's voice is so blown out that that album has the power
of both barrells of a 12 guage straight to the solar plexus as you
say... it is all about power, and a much more bluesy feel, but it also
had that sad feeling of finality cuz throughout the album, jim was
either balls to the wall bringing it home, or he was sloppy and
distracted. having the benefit of hindsight we now know why the album
has that loose organization of power and recklessness, and even though
he was waaaay drunk and some songs took 342 takes, it still manages to
sound like it was all played live.....though its not my
favorite.....its certainly not a poor choice at all to be ones
favorite.

Christmas, Christmas time is near
Time for toys and time for cheer
We've been good, but we can't last
Hurry Christmas, hurry fast
Want a plane that loops the loop
Me, I want a hula hoop
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late.
