I don't know if I was a "label" but I can tell you that I did have a bit of
a crash last summer.
I had just returned home with my daughter (an international adoption). I
was stuck in the house during a horrid heat wave.
She had surgery and needed a great deal of care at home. My girl was VERY
clinging I could not even put her down to go to the bathroom without her
screaming.
Also after the four year emotional rollercoaster of my journey to get her, I
was so exhausted it helped fuel my depression.
Keep in mind I am prone to depression anyway. I ended up going to a social
worker who works with newly adopted children and their new parents.
It helped muchly.

silly for the medical field to come up with yet another label for we

There are different forms of depression, but I doubt that they
necessarily follow different triggers. Besides, they can change type;
for instance, mine was trigged by my situation, but now it's biological,
and possibly bipolar.

It seems evident now that thoughts can lead to depression. Once that is
ingrained, there are chemical changes in the brain - the computer on which
the software of thought runs is altered.
At that point, thought may no longer be effective is changing the system
back. Once the computer is malfunctioning, the software no longer runs
correctly.

I do find it funny how shorts are okay when they are
young but by the time they get to high school, no shorts
allowed. All tops must have collars with buttons but only
the first button can be unbuttoned but T-Shirts are fine

Depression can follow any major stress, can't it? New job and moving
house are major stressors. So is divorce, or losing a close relative.
Sticking a label on each is just daft, especially for those of us who've
had three of the four, while working in a constantly changing stressful
job. What do you call that - stress depression?
