Annie why do I think your asking cuz "you" are the friend and you want
to know how much to take to OD your self?
Ask your doctor or better yet ask your friends doctor if you think s/he
is at risk.

You can put as many emoticons after the above statement as you like and it
will still come across as rude and defensive. There was no humour in that
statement and you know it. I understand that it's easier to pretend you
were misunderstood rather than own up to your mistake, but I don't know that
it's the healthy thing to do. If you really are here trying to help a
friend, you're probably a good person, and well worth helping. If Jane is
right, and it's really you who needs the help, but for whatever reason you
were unable admit that, rest assured that we have heard it all before and
you can still tell the truth without it being a big deal. Either way, had
you responded to Jane with a simple clarification, sans the sarcasm, the
replies to you would have been far more positive, and Jane, one of the
kindest people I know, would likely have been a big help to you. Try again
if you want. Your decision. Second chances around here are par for the
course. If you decide to mosey anyway, then I wish you good luck with your
friend. She's lucky to have you.

It would take an immense amount. The new ad's are preferred partly due to
their lower risk for overdosing
Let your friend know that the amount would have to be massive, and her
death would probably be excruciatingly painful and take quite a while.
Effexor isn't a tranquilizer than can knock you out while you drift off to
the pearly gates. If she was even able to come up with a fatal dose
(probably a couple hundred pills) she would suffer greatly before dying.
She would likely go through serotonin syndrome first. Not fun. High-blood
pressure, seizures, etc.
If she's serious, this ain't the way to do it. I hope you can talk her out
of even wanting to do it at all.

You can overdose on ANYTHING.
It's the dose not the toxin.
Drinking too much water can kill you.
What does it say on the side of the bottle?

It takes over 500 pills at 150mg per pill to die from Effexor. Maybe a
little less if it's the XR kind and you crush the little balls inside
the capsles. They make it hard to OD on because it's for depressed
people. You have better luck with a big Costco bottle of asprin, but
it's a slow painful death.
