problems in the world... |
What makes me sad often is how many complex, unresolvable
peroblems there are in the world,on every level... alll you have to do
is read newspapers or magzines to understand that...It's a strange
world we live...a very strange journey... what's the point of life?
what's the meaning? Will the problems in the world ever be even
somewhat improved?

According to the Tao Te Ching, the best time to solve difficult problems, is
when they are easy.

The basic truth is the problems we have now are really no different than
the problems we had a thousand years ago. So just forget about all of it
and try to have a good time. Your highest aspiration should be to be happy
and not to be a burden on anyone else.

Very deep. You should send that into Reader's Digest, they've got a page

They are constantly being improved... that just never makes it on the
news.
On one point: I saw a great documentary, last night, about the
industrialization of China.
Did you know that air pollution in the US is actually starting to
decrease? Our efforts are, surprisingly, having a positive effect.
Did you know that, though they are going through the most massive and
accelerated industrialization of any nation in history, the Chinese
government is summarily closing plants that are, in their opinion, and
without any set regulations, producing too much pollution? They have
recognized that if they let things go the way they have they will be the
worst polluters on Earth and they're trying to do something about it.
It wasn't what I expected to hear.
