What other websites do you get into to discuss, chat, research, play, get
news, etc.? I've got like a hundred on my 'favorite list' but they're getting
old.

very few really. I guess the web is a big old attention span grabber ever
catching new flies for the info-overload spiders that gobble you up. As it
were.

The BBC's where I normally start for news, and weather. The 'Rockall
Times' for satire - they need to write more! Google to start a research
session - I must learn the logic for refining searches. I don't chat,
and I don't manage much discussion - not many people share my interests.
Maybe I should look for somewhere else to go.
I'm not very good at staying on the web - too many years being told off
for using (and having to pay for) the phone line. It's free now, but I'm
pre-programmed.

rec.pets.birds, because it's a good place to exchange information
about birds, and I am owned by a parrot.
I also belong to an online writers' group, which was very
valuable in helping me think of myself as a writer after I got my
job as a technical writer. Now I hang out there for the social
thing, a bit like I do here.
Otherwise, I have a series of news websites that I visit each day
to monitor what is going on in the world. Some US, some British,
one Israeli, I also check out Australia & NZ news. The facts,
ma'am, just the facts.
