Object: Random Notes(off topic/long)
I remember reading Rolling Stone every week in the early 70s. They had
a great column called 'random notes' So I'm stealing it.
-I brought Bob to register to vote in our new town. I called first,
the guy was pleasant...I said I was bringing an older man. So as me
and Bob climbed the steps (up with the good, down with the bad) a guy
coming out on his way to lunch said, "did you just call?". "yeah", I
said, surprised. He said, "voter registration is right through that
door, first floor..." And the women were pleasant, Bob got to tell a
few stories. (He was a cryptographer in S.H.A.E.F during WW2, in
Eisenhower's headquarters) I've heard the stories 75 times each, so
it's good when another listens, good for him. In essence, I was
impressed by our new town's Town Hall.
-At some point within the next week, I'm going to stop taking all
drugs, and I'm going to quit smoking (i chain smoke many packs a day.)
I'm going to ask a saint, Padre Pio, to help me do it.(If it's my
lungs, I guess what I believe is important. I think he's a powerful
saint. IMHO. no conversions being sought here.) But everything, Lipitor
(for cholesterol, 10 years on) and psych drugs (currently only
clonazepam, if I can't sleep...so every night at 11.) and Requip, the
parkinson's drug now okayed in lower doses, for 'Restless Leg Syndrome'
( As if it's only a mild inconvenience...it is hell!) Quitting coffee
too. All for 1 week. If I do that, I can do it for 2. I've never
done that in my life, in 38 years. (38+13= 51). I started smoking at
13. First AD at 17. And I did all the other stuff a hippy loving 13
year old in 1969 would do, with an angry father who seemed to hate me,
and a depressed and screaming mother. (It changed in the past 20 years,
God bless Mom, and RIP Dad...)musta sucked having 5 kids... and he
drank daily)and he hated long hair and deerskin hippy
jackets(me)...but it was worse than bad, and I has scared everyday,
guilty because I felt deepdown that what I was doing was wrong,( but
The Beatles did it...)and The Vietnam War, I would cheer the
protestors, he slapped my ear from behind, saying, "somebody put a bug
in your ear..."
freakin',"Oww".
-It's small pizza night. Pepperoni and Bacon, Bob eats 2 pieces, I eat
the rest.
-Too many lawnmowers in suburbia. I'm not used to it.
-Brad Garett's new show sucks so bad....
The end. Brian
-

Thanks for reading it, Gayle. Yeah, my doctor is used to my impulsive
meds changes. I just want to clean out my body for the first time in
ages, to see how I really feel. Probably scary, but I'll be careful, I
promise. I'll probably wind up needing the Requip at least. And the
Lipitor.....no, I have to try it.

I have a friend who's kinda doing the
same thing, i.e. cleaning out his body
to see how he 'feels'. He was having
some crying spells -- so I invited him
over for an afternoon of watching sad
documentaries to see if that helped
kinda flush out some feelings that had
been cushioned by meds. He cried so much
we ended up laughing. He sez it helped
but he wouldn't have wanted to do it
alone. But, that's what I do sometimes
to release feelings.
Good luck with it, Brian, and I'm glad
to hear you've got a doc who knows you
well.

It's $25 mil, so we only need 25 people
to kick in $1 million/ea. Actually, make
that 30 people. We'll need a marketing
budget and start-up salaries. IT
upgrade. Pillows. Stuff like that.

The marketing budget is the key to the
success of the enterprise, Alan, not the
pillows. Marketing includes a stipend
for the Writer-in-Residence (and travel
expenses from, let's say the UK for
example). And, of course, it also
includes promoting a writing contest to
win scholarships (and travel from, um,
maybe the UK, for example). The judges
will get paid, too, and that comes out
of the marketing budget. Maybe there's
another cash prize that helps one of our
guests shop his/her manuscript around or
self-publishing/distribution expenses.
That $ also comes from the marketing budget.
Deciding how to split the profits
amongst the asd shareholders would be an
operational expense, not marketing. But
the marketing will increase the profits
-- so you can see why it's assigned the
highest priority.

Well, not exactly. What we've got is a
fanatasy without pillows. And the
glimmer of a way to sell the fantasy. By
the time we figger that out, we'll have
pillows, too. Of the highest quality.

Yeah, I've done that and felt better

That's what 'having a good cry' means,
eh? I've had many.

I remember being in an AA meeting many years ago when I was on coke,
and hearing the speaker, and just sobbing (nondisruptively). I also
heard a guy speak who had been starved as a kid, abused...and he, as an
adult said he cried for that kid he used to be all the time. I'm no
longer in touch with those 'cry' neurons. That sucks, so I need a
break. It's coming this week.
We had a friend bring her little new baby to our home today. Man, that
was the cutest little child...smiled at Bob...I think it was good for
the house to have her here. They stayed half an hour, and the house
still feels alive.
I ramble at times. Hi Dan. Hi again Gayle. Peace, kids.

I can be done, if the experiences in the womb are unpleasant. (Drugs,
smoking or drinking, listening to bad music.)
