increasingly it becomes evident that the bravest act of all is to
accept that flash of pain that a gunshot, noose, or razor will bring
and to walk away from all the illusory rewards that life supposedly
offers.
to walk away from all the crap and to terminate your own life are
singular acts of courage. the catch is climbing over that hump of
inward, reluctant cowardice and keeping firmly in mind that an instant
or even a few minutes of physical pain will mean deliverance from
decades of pointless, drawn-out existence. so few find that courage.
i have not.

It is easy to get done with yourself, huh? As it is much easier to make
damage than to build. Cowardice is to get done with yourself because it is
easier than looking for solutions to your problems. I am 54, and I have
spent most of my life wrestling with my illness to improve. You do not have
the courage?

You really need to see a psychiatrist. To be somewhat facetious, I'd
consider skydiving. Sometimes I think about it when I'm really depressed.
Might be a thrill.

to amplify, it seems to me that a lot of miserable people chicken out
b/c they fear, as i do, the physical pain of killing oneself. they
(we) would rather live with decades of deep unhappiness, which at
least doesn't torture the nerve endings like a gunshot or a 10-foot
drop from a tree branch.

I strongly disagree. Death does not have to be painful. In my experience,
it's the drive for self-preservation that fears death. Every animal tries
to stay alive--humans are no different in this regard.

In search of truth, you will find the answer which answers
What is reality?
To end your own life because it is so miserable - is no excuse
to do it.
There are always people worse off than you, who have beared the
pain of living, coping and surviving.
And people worse off, who are still living - with the knowledge
that life is for the living.
Reduce everything to it's bare essentials and see what
truth lies in your life - that makes life worth living, still.
