"All gentiles are worthless trash." - Grand Rabbi Schneur Zalman

Looks like you have been listening somewhere to
the "whisper game" on the Likutei/Amarim (Tanya)
of the Alter Rebbe.
It's not nice to get one's cites wrong.

Contrarian <adrba65@gmail.com> did comment, sadly:

It's not nice to get one's cites wrong.

upon another posters grotesque misquotation :
"All gentiles are w*rthless tr*sh" - Grand Rabbi Schneur Zalman

SPOILER for Religious/Jewish/etc. material:
There is absolutely no doubt that a non-Jew/Gentile may
attain the status of one the "chasidei ha-olam(os). I
have checked this with a Chabad scholar in Manahatan.
Chabad (Lubavitch) of which the Alter Rebbe (R. Scheur
Zalman) is the founder, has made it a goal to publicize
this possiblity, in the Sheva Mitzvot B'nai Noach campaign.
A few excerpts from Wikipedia on the Halachic (Jewish,
Talmudic) basis for this:
The Seven Noahide Laws
also called the Brit Noah ("Covenant of Noah")
mitzvot (commandments) and halakhot (laws) that are morally binding
on non-Jews according to Judaism.
The Talmud also states: "Righteous people of all nations have a share
in the world to come" (Sanhedrin 105a). Any non-Jew who lives
according to these laws is regarded as one of "the righteous among
the gentiles". Maimonides states that this refers to those who have
acquired knowledge of God and act in accordance with the Noahide
laws.
A non-Jew who keeps the Noahide Law in all its details is said to
attain the same spiritual and moral level as Israel's own Kohen Gadol
(high priest) (Talmud, Bava Kamma 38a).
From : "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noahide_Laws"
which has numerous references for further reading, some
of which have been recommended, some of which are entirely
unknown to me. Ppl in search of immediate further discussion
are directed to the Yahoogroups Noahides list.
The section in the Tanya (Likutei Amarim) where the Alter
Rebbe mentions the "goyim" and their "kindness" or "charity"
does not refer to the gentiles as individual but "goyim"
means "nations" and means that nations tend only to act
for reasons of self interest. I have never heard any specific
discussion of this. Given the kind of misrepresentations
one sees, I'm not surprised.
The "hallmark" of the Almighty is truth -- Talmud (Bavli)
Shabbat 55a.
Wishing Gmar Chatima Tova and a Good Year to all.
