Blogathon 2003 is nearly upon us! it is being held july 26th starting
at 6am pacific time through july 27th until 6 am pacific. the weekend
before my birthday, as usual!

for those unfamiliar with it, blogathon is this nifty little event
where a large number of crazy people stay up for 24 hours straight
posting every half an hour in their blogs to raise money for charities
of their choice. it's a great time, and a great fundraiser for a large
number of charities.

sponsors (that would be all of you nice people) sign up to sponsor
these crazy people, spend their waking hours waiting in agony for the
next update, and now that i have comments on my dumb blog, there is
opportunity for heckling!

this year i am excited to announce that i will be blogging to raise
money for kim's ark rat rescue which rescues unwanted rats and mice,
rehabs them if necessary, socializes and cares for them, and finds
them loving homes. it's a great organization, and kim's a great
person.

[i have been seriously considering dropping out this year. i am so
tired and my heart just isn't in it. but jon was a lab rat, and though
i didn't get him through the ark, kim has placed a large number of
labrats in forever homes. i'm going to go through with blogathon for
just that reason. for jon. it may be a hokey reason, but it's the one
i'm clinging to right now.

please, even if you can only spare a couple bucks, i'd love if you'd
sponsor me. i really want to make this a worthwhile 24 hours.]
