Re: why do people not like other people? |

Maybe I'm just naive and unworldly in some ways, but I

read
in "the portable therapist" that people are critical and judegemental
about other people because they don't feel good about themselves. (By
the way I recommend reading "The portable therapist". It had alot to
say, though I'm not as functional as the people the book is aimed
for.)
I guess it's O.K. to not like people and have judgements, I don't
mean
to be overly naive, but is it necessay to always talk disparagingly
about other people? It seems to me that there could be better things
to
talk about.
Just some ideas I think about
Put downs are often used to convince ourselves that the other side is

I just think that often we don't really know people all that
well, paticularly over the internet...It's easy to not really give
people a chance.Sure,we get some sense of the person,but I think it's
really easy to kind of turn people into a kind of caricature,a one
dimensional cartoon, instead of getting to know there many different
sides and facets...After all,We all have many things about oursleves
that we keep hidden, and many things from our past histories that we
don't share,or share selectively...Also,as both of us have talked about
here,I think to some extent, many of us are working out our emotional
issues,conflicts on ASD...

I think you're absolutely correct on that one!
