Remember that advertisement where a teenage boy goes to a library in
some other country and tries to borrow a book? He gets asked all sorts
of questions, like "why do you want this book?", "What is your name
and address?" etc etc

The ad went on to brag about how great the USA was and how free people
are, since, unlike in some *other* countries, US residents could read
what they liked without being spied on...

Now US libraries have to track what their members read...isn't it
great what freedom can do?
