Has anyone had this associated with topiramate? The time-scales are
similar.
It seems odd, but the leg only gives me trouble during naps, not at
night (so far, touches wood substitute). Maybe the trazodone's holding
it in check then.

The opinions given above may be mine. They might also
just be what I feel like saying right now, okay?

his is not associated with meds, but my hubby has it. mostly when we are
riding in the car and only if he's the passenger. he says he has the urge
to move his legs so badly that he can hardly stand it. i think he has it at
night too, though. he kicks or "runs in bed" half the night. he doesn't
even know he's doing it. i'm not sure if that's a symptom of it or not, but
it seems as if it *would* be!

i love falling asleep to the tv, but my hubby is like the woman you live
with. he has to have total quiet and complete darkness. most nights i fall
asleep on the couch between 9:30 and 10:30 to the sound of the TV, and then
i get up around midnight and crawl in bed. i remember when greg and i first
started dating in college...his parents live(d) WAY out in the country. i
mean WAY out. no streetlights...no sounds. nothing. and the bedroom i
slept in was so freaking dark that i couldn't stand it. and the house was
so insanely quiet, that i was scared to death. after several visits to his
parents house, i got myself a small radio, and turned it on extremely
quietly by the bed at night. and i opened the curtains to at least let in
the moonlight. it was SO dark and SO quiet! i hated it. but that's how
hubby grew up and that's how he still likes it. i was, and always will be,
a city girl. :))
at least now when i visit his folks, it's not so bad. his parents have
gotten old and don't mind (or can't hear!) noise anymore. and they've put a
tv in every bedroom. me and hubby sleep in separate rooms at their house so
that i can watch tv, and he can have complete quiet, so i don't mind going
there so much anymore. :D

What is that, is it Paxil in the states? Is it an SSRI?
If so, yes, that causes it, and I don't know if it will ever go away.
I got it 3 years ago, and it hasn't gone away since. It happens just
as I'm going to sleep. But I can feel it coming even before I'm down
for the night. Then I take my Requip. I'm on 2 mg. It's a high
dose. They start you at 1/4 mg, up to 1/2, then 3/4 then a whole 1 mg
pill.
It's not just the legs, it's my *****, up the side of my body that it is
on that night, it switches. A quick 'relief'/cure" temporary, is any
opiate. 1/2 a vicoden(I don't know if that's an opiate, but it feels
great) a half a percocet Those work fast, unlike Requip which has no
narcotic (It's a Parkinson's drug, finally approved for RLS) and takes
an hour and a half to work.
The time-scales are

similar.

Trazadone helps? hmmm. I used to be on that to sleep (Desyrylly)(sp)
But it made me fat. Also can cause an erection which needs to be
treated at the emergency room with a stent. Or a shunt. A tube to
release the blood. Yikes. (that's in the PDR)
It's WEIRD how it only starts during beta brain waves (can't take a
nap, and that SUCKS!)

It seems odd, but the leg only gives me trouble during naps, not at
night (so far, touches wood substitute). Maybe the trazodone's holding
it in check then.

I kind of doubt it, Alan. My legs give me lots of trouble at night,
jerking, etc. Not to mention that I have sensations that I am falling
out of bed and I jerk myself awake.

It's just my left leg, between ankle and knee. It's an unbelievable
pressure building up until I just have to voluntarily move the damned
thing. Then it all starts again.
Not seen you for a while, Ms P. You doing okay?
