Yes... but the feasibility of a rhino dung paper plant is questionable.
Rhinos, though relatively easy to capture, don't thrive in the colder
regions where most paper manufacturing takes place. Thus requiring
existing factories to be abandoned and construction of new facilities in
"rhino adjacent" regions to be created allowing "free-range" rhino dung to
be used.
When taking into account the numbers of rhino in the wild, and the amount
of paper that could be reasonably manufactured from their dung the costs
of wide-scale rhino dung paper production will never be able to balance
TCO and ROI.
Beyond that one also has to take into account that paper made out of *****
will most likely smell like *****.

I think when it drys out it has almost no smell at all. Redirecting
need is always hard. look what is going on with hybrid vechiles that
do not use gas. We should be alot further along with that, Imagine
the advantage of not being dependant on foriegn oil. The problem in
large part is that the big oil companies and by extension a great
many other people do not want to see that happen for obvious reasons.
So my point is this kind of change is always hard. Maybe Rhino dung
is not a viable solution. It is important to keep in mind thought that
the California redwoods are down to 3 Percent of what they were 100
years ago.. 3 PERCENT! jill

....and my absurd ramblings turn into a serious discussion... we're all
doomed.
Hybrid vehicles do burn gas... Hybrid means they are a dual fuel/electric
solution.
Hybrid cars are as big a hit to the environment as gas burners. The
environmental impact is at the factory and at their end of life instead of
on the road.
We should have been using bio-fuels for the last 20 years but no one could
find a way to make a profit off of it (at least comparable to their
current profits)... meanwhile we pay farmers NOT to grow corn. The time
for the end of all farm subsidies is now. Oh... and legalize HEMP!!!
What we need is the car that they are working on now (I'm told there is a
working prototype but at the moment it's way too heavy and way too
expensive).
A pure hydrogen burner that carries it's own hydrogen production station
with it. A hydrogen engine can either burn hydrogen or produce it... so
the car, in a sense, has two engines that feed each other. The only thing
you need to add is water.
The problem in large part is that the big oil companies and by
extension a great many other people do not want to see that happen for
obvious reasons.
Without profit nothing happens. You shouldn't expect a better solution
until someone can get rich off of it... that's simply how capitalism works
and I think we can trust it to get us there.
So my point is this kind of change is always hard. Maybe Rhino dung is

I would hope that was obvious to everyone.

Yea... I know, I'm from Eureka, I grew up in the Humbolt redwood forest.
The logging companies have made great strides in the last 25 years in
changing their methods of harvest and replanting to preserve the forests
because that's where their profits come from.
Are you aware that there was so much logging in Wisconsin that there are
no original trees left in the state? The forest will survive... the only
question is whether we will.
If you really want to save the forests then you need to help re-legalize
hemp. You can get ten times the amount of paper out of hemp you can out of
wood... plus you can get fuel and other products out of it, with none of
the pollution caused by using wood.
Hemp was THE cash crop in the mid-west for a very long time and I'm sure
there are still a lot of small farmers here that would love to start
growing it again.
Not that any of this has to do with rhino dung.

Don't make the assumption that the US no longer using oil is going to
bring about world peace. Most conflict in the world comes from poverty and
greed... There's a lot of US money pouring into a lot of other countries
because of oil.
I'm a bit concerned of what would happen if all that money suddenly
stopped looking like payment for a product and started looking like
foreign aid.
I think the only country that would benefit from the US not needing oil
would be the US... not that I have any problem with that, I just think it
would be a lot more destabilizing than one might think.
