I'm looking foward to seeing my sister and nephew tomorrow night.
They're flying in from California... I always feel grateful to have a
sister as wonderful as the one I have... We're very different in many
ways,we always have been,yet we get along really well... Even as
kids,we did. we would fight sometimes,and there were times when we
didn't get along,but we would never stay angry with each other. that's
how I remember it... I think I was very influenced by her opinions and
tastes,(not in every area,but in some ways)paticularly from the time I
was a teenager up until now... She's a really wonderful person... and
my nephew is terriffic,though I'm prejudiced in the matter,of course...
I love being an uncle. I just worry sometimes about being a "good"
enough uncle to him... I sometimes wish he lived closer... One of the
nice things about being an uncle I think is not having the
responsibilities that a parent has. I know I could never in a million
years handle being a parent even if I wanted to be one...
