Did Mozilla invent it? I know everyone always raves about how much better
it is but I never could get the hang of it. Sooo many extensions to
download and I'm just a lazyass.
I do like IE7 so far though.

Tabbed browsing is da' bomb, as the kids say. Having multiple pages open
in the same app is most excellent.
What they need to do next is have a true MDI (multiple document
interface... I think) integrated with the tabbed system so you can view
two or more pages at the same time side by side.
I've often wondered why that's not the way web browsers were originally
designed. If you can have multiple pages open in your word processor why
can't you do it in your web browser? What was the thought... or lack of
thought as the case may be, in making a browser work differently than most
other applications?

When did Microsoft say it invented tabbed browsing?

You'll have to give it a few years for the lines to blur. It usually takes
three to five years for Microsoft to have invented something that they
stole from someone else.

Who did they steal it from, Firefox or Opera? If they stole it from Firefox
can you really consider it stealing since Firefox stole it from Opera?

AFAIK Opera was the first tabbed browser.

AFAIK Opera was the first tabbed browser.

Yes, and Xerox was the first GUI. Yet some people still insist that
Microsoft ripped off Apple, when it was Apple that ripped off Xerox.

I have it installed on 4 machines without significant problems.
A lot of vocal complaints in the newsgroup are about not being able to
customize the menu/toolbar area.
But the ineternetexplorer newsgroup is being pummeled by problems and
complaints. It seems to be one of those packages that either works fine or
doesn't work at all.
Wanda uses it heavily and hasn't had a problem. I've mostly switched to
FireFox.

Then again, how many newsgroups get pummeled by pats on the back for a job
well done?

I use both U2B. IE and Mozilla. IE for those sites that don't work in
Mozilla but 95% of them do. Anyway I updated and I like it, took me a
little time to get used to it. I didn't get any conflicts as of yet, but I
have a brand new computer not sure how it works on older ones. I'm running
XP.

i'm thinking giving up on Firefox because on my computer Google isn't
working properly in Firefox. i can do a search but it will only search
once, if i try to change anything, it's dead and i have to start with a
new Google window.
some pages will only work in IE.

That's the new "language bar" which isn't very useful unless you plan to
surf in more than on language. You can right-click on it and remove it.

Yeah, when my wireless won't 'repair', it says to contact that guy. I
wonder if Apple is more user friendly on all those deep levels, where a
PC is so full of crap. Like in XP, you hear that symphonic "Clunk" and
a java thing says "section00000008.6 refused to close. Retry? or 'see
file tscontrolcwt' Like retrying ever helped, or I know what section
0000008.6 is, and can fix it or access it. Lately, I use system
restore a lot.
