I'm completely new here, but I have to say, this post scares the heck
out of me. If you don't believe someone is being honest in their
postings, why don't you just ignore them? This posting is so full of
hatred and negativity, and I for one sought out this chat to get some
reprieve from my own negative thoughts.
Please don't bash me for saying this. Maybe after another day or two of
reading, I'll understand the venom against this guy. But perhaps it's
not a bad idea to keep in mind how newcomers -- people who actually
need help -- might perceive this kind of thread.
Just a thought.

Hey Algernon, welcome to the group.
As far as negativity goes, this is a depression group, with a lot of ill
people posting here that have more then just depression. Say that, there
will be a lot of negativity and angst back and forth. If you are reading a
post that starts to turn bad, stop reading it, is my best advice.

Yep. There is some pretty aggressive negativity that sometimes goes
back and forth and it takes a while to understand context, history and
long running disputes. It's just a little flame up so try not to let
it scare you. If you're overly sensitive to it take Jane's advice and
stop reading the thread. There are moderated groups that eliminate
this element, but trust me you'll get much more out of being
here...it's fun and very active and very supportive...with a little
background noise.
Hope you stick around.

Gravity/Michael is a schizophrenic character who often turns quite nasty
as he cycles in and out of his various states. He won't take basic steps
to get himself the proper help and frequently stops taking his
medication. He becomes obsessed with just about any female who comes
along - and it inevitably is a painful experience to have a relationship
with him. His little barbs have been given the pet name of "throwing pop
cans".
