Slunky You'll Laugh at my F#*k Up |
I was trying to upgrade my desktop from 2 to 4 GB of RAM. So I bought
the right RAM (PC2-5300 DDR2-667), two 1 GB simms. Well they had an
aluminum shield/cover and the directions are minimal. I've never seen
a cover like this on RAM.
The other two simms in the computer didn't have it, so I went about
getting it off (thinking it was a new static guard technology).
Plyers, screwdriver, even ripped apart the warranty void if removed
sticker. Then it hit me, this can't be right.
But the damage was to the simm I tried to open, it doesn't work. The
other one works fine, so now I'm at 3 GB, oh well.
Not a cheap mistake but I will write PNY about their lack of detailed
directions...I will not go back to CompUSA to bargain with them out of
embarassment.
