Object: some time in the distant future
i will have moved into a two bedroom condo, and it will be fully
decluttered. everything will be neat and clean.
millie will be fully grown, maybe 10-11 inches long. she will have a
couple of other millis to keep her company: millbert and mollie.
in a large cage in my living room, a couple of zebra finches will be
chirping happily and flying around.
in the evening, after i fall asleep, i will be awakened by two heavy
standard poodles moving around in the bed. they won't have ridiculous
"poodle haircuts", so i can take them for walks without everybody
laughing at them. :)
maybe i'll even have met the woman that i want to spend the rest of my
life with. i haven't given up on that dream yet.

these things are called , " self fulfilling prophecies "
much like saying , " right after i win the lottery i will ... "
but what i'm really wondering is how this has anything to do with ,
supporting anyones depression or relates to depression at all ?

Actually it has something to do with dealing with depression.
One of the ways to hold on is to be able to set, believe in, and work
towards a goal. It doesn't have to be huge and grand. Just something
meaningful to you. Doesn't matter if it has meaning to anyone else in
the world.
Without a goal you have no future. Without being able to see a future
your suffering (depression) has no meaning. Why keep going then?
Setting a goal gives you something of a future and a reason to hope
that your current suffering will at the least diminish, and maybe even
end.
I don't know if I am making any sense. I am trying to share some of
what I read in "A Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl recently.
Suffering has to have meaning if it is to be survived. Being able to
see that there may be an end to it makes that possible because you can
then conceive of a future and have a goal in life.
Anyway, I am probably mangling the heck out of all that. Pick up a
copy of the book and read through it. It's very quick, but full of
things to contemplate.

Thanks! I needed a giggle today. Now I have one. You? Married? You
doing any of the things you say you will do? Rich, very rich. You
have some dumb bug, and a recorded voice as your 'friends'. Yea, real
good dad.
