I use MailWasher and really do like it. I also use AdAware to clean up
things about once a month. It finds the "tracking devices" that these
websites plant in our computers and then kills them. :-) And MailWasher
allows you to preview all mail before downloading it into your mail program.
And then you can blacklist and bounce back to the sender any spam you get.
Both AdAware and MailWasher are available for download online.
Good luck!

I use K9 and adaware together, and I've been very happy with both. The thing
about K9 is it learns from it's mistakes, so if it doesn't catch all of them
or even most of them first time, don't give up on it, it gets very smart
very quickly.

supposed to be very good. Friends use it and rave about it.

have tried both K9 and mailwasher and both are good, if you want to open two
programs to check your mail. I dont get spam, but then I have an extremely
effective spam blocker, its in Outlook Express itself. Create a rule that
blocks all mail except if the person is in your address book. Works a treat.
I never get spam, but then I never get random mail from friends who are not
in my address book either.

I use K9 but still only use outlook express to check my mail, and by then
it's already filtered. I've set K9 so it only stores very few messages
before deleting them.

I use a shareware/freeware program called Cloudmark SpamNet. It works
wonderfully well. I receive well over a hundred a day now and 99% go right
to the trash.
