I've heard that ssri's help with compulsive behavior
Is this true
Are they bad (have big side effects - like sexual)

Yes, SSRIs like Prozac, Zoloft, and Paxil are the standard medical
treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.

Yes, depending on how you react and how much you take, an SSRI can
have minimal impact on libido, completely eliminate sex from your
life, or cause something in between. You won't know until you try.

My son takes Luvox(fluvoxamine) for OCD with good results.

Sometimes certain combainations of meds can help, each person is different
though.
