STOP THINKING SO MUCH! |
sometimes it's enough to just be. the examined life is good, but the
"i-must-put-everything-in-my-head-under-a-microscope" syndrome is a
sure road to hell. get outside your head, outwardly engage, laugh!
laugh a LOT! laugh till your sides hurt and you think you're going to
pee your pants...just don't let anyone know that last part. it's none
of their business what happens in your underwear. breathe. practice
the Teflon Mind approach when things in your head upset you. learn to
distinguish between what is fixable, what is survivable, what is
acceptable, what to let go of, what to obsess over. practice being
happy for a few minutes a day by thinking about something that made
you feel good. walk, exercise, play. make time for enjoyment of
things you love in your life each day. and laugh. laugh a LOT! i
once read of a man who cured his cancer by watching funny movies and
belly laughing each day. don't let go of life. don't be afraid to
ask for help. don't be afraid to show your emotions, even the scary
ones. don't be afraid to feel them. be kind to yourself. be kind to
others. practice patience and forgiveness. you do NOT know it all
because if you do, there's nothing left to learn and that is
unacceptable. be open to new ideas, new experiences, always
remembering to exercise due caution where your life and the lives of
others are concerned. slow down or speed up, whichever is called for
in any given situation. cherish the feel of sunshine on your skin
(but use sunscreen.), rain on your head (but beware of hail!), wind in
your hair. go outside and breathe deeply. sit in silence at least
once a day. think of what kind of music you'd like to be the
soundtrack for your life.
(just gentle affirmations for myself because i need them.)

I sometimes wonder if you can read my mind. I know these were for you
but I bet there is more than just one person here who will benefit
from these words. I know I have. I'm not sure just how much actual
"movement" they will inspire in me, but you did plant a seed.
Just call yourself Denisy Appleseed..:o)
Hope you are doing well denise....

yes, yes, yes!this is extremly important...I go thorugh cycles where I
laugh a lot,and it's helped me thorugh some very difficult times...but
when I'm not in one of those cycles it's hard much harder...maybe that
just means I need to try harder...I wish soda worked more
often...soda+a certain time of day+doing telphone surveys used to make
me laugh a lot...I think it had something to do with my
blood-sugar...but it doesn't always work...now I have to find new
variables to laugh more, because I do believe it's absolutly crucial in
getting through life,real,deep laughter...(very)Occasionally,I'll have
a real,spontaneous,deep "body" laugh...that feels really good,it makes
you feel really alive...
