Stuffs (spoilered for being absolutely fatuous) |
x-no-archive: yes
My little girl is on my desktop, now. It's the pic of her in her new hat.
That pic was taken in Almaty, in May, the front of the hotel we were staying
in. Kristina was holding her.
So much has changed since then. She's a lot bigger and she's learned so
many new things. English, for example, and shave ice, the ocean, parks, and
the differences between me and Kristina.
But that's still how I think of her and that's still who she is: as happy
as she can be in her new hat.
I am so extraordinarily lucky.

Jesse (10) grasped long division yesterday. For some reason the
concepts hadn't clicked which surprised me because he's generally
very good with maths.
So I thought it might be the abstract concept of decimal
placement that was confusing him and I was right. A few minutes
later he was wild with excitement and jumping around.
The thing with bright kids is they skip a lot of stuff and
sometimes miss out on the basics. He had never learned the proper
respect for decimal so I taught him binary and then he got it
instantly.
He was wild with excitement and hugged me and told me he loved me
and I was the best Papa in the world.
Brilliant!
